GILI ISLAND

Three perfect coral islands, fringed with white sand and swaying palm trees, lay in the sparkling ocean just off the northwest coast of Lombok. For many years the Gilis have attracted visitors from around the world for its pristine waters, great diving and snorkelling opportunities, and put back charm.

Gili the word really means "small island", so that these islands have become known as "the Gilis" by travelers, who have long considered to be at least equal to that of the appeal of Thailand and India to the south of the southern coast.

During the last decade, each of the three islands has developed a unique style or peersonally, catering to different tyoes of holiday and travelers. Health and Medicine
The reorganization has improved over the islands. There are two health centers in Gili Trawangan; (1) located near the soccer fields for the local population and (2) located in Villa Ombaka with better facilities for tourism.

Gili Meno also now have a health care center funded by local businesses. Gili Air also has a health center located near the main village. The health center is known locally as "Puskesmas". To keep fit and healthy, always drink bottled water or boiled water and avoid eating raw food or salad of small non-renowned restaurants, because the water could not be sterilized.

Security
There is no police station or military post in the islands, but there is a small police station in Bangsal port.
