Camping Tips

Follow these safety tips for camping and make the best of your campsite:
  1. Make camp before dark. Traveling after darkness has resulted in many accidents from falls, so travel during the day whenever possible.
  2. Check for potential hazards. Be sure to check thoroughly for glass, sharp objects, branches, large ant beds, poison ivy, bees and dangerous ground.
  3. Avoid areas of natural hazards. Check the contour of the land and potential problems due to rain.
  4. Check the site. Find a site with sufficient space to spread their art.
  5. Build fire in a safe area. Its open fires and fuel combustion appliances must be far enough away from the tent to prevent sparks from ignition of the flame and heat.
  6. Make sure your fires are always attended. Make sure you have an area of a fire that can not spread laterally or vertically - a grill or stone surface is ideal.
  7. Be careful when encountering wildlife. Use a flashlight at night - many animals feed at night and using a flashlight may warn them away. To avoid the bear, keep your campsite clean and do not leave food, garbage, refrigerators, cooking equipment or utensils in the open.
  8. Beware of errors. Avoid attracting stinging insects with the use of garments, light-colored and avoid cologne and perfume.
  9. Care of poisonous plants. Familiarize yourself with the dangerous plants that are common to the area where he is camping.
  10. Think before you drink. No matter how clean or pure stream water looks, is likely to contain water for parasites and microorganisms that can cause discomfort or serious illness.
